Jim Collins's book, Good to Great had become a kind of a gospel for business and businessmen in 2001. Ten years later Collins has brought the sequel of his bestselling business doctrine - Great By Choice. The book primarily focuses on how businesses can lead themselves to lasting success over a period of time. The book efforts to have realistic approach to businesses having to last their success through the tide of changing times. The book is meant to be a survival guide to success although the prequel of the book spoke about some 11 companies out of which one is in government receivership and another is bankrupt. The fact that binds business readers to Collins's books is his ability cook up his theory in a compelling manner.

Like Collins's last book, Good to Great, the sequel, Great By Choice has been built up with a strong framework of well researched data to substantiate theories the book talks about. Mr. Jim Collins and his co-author, Morten T. Hansen's has done an extensive research on a set of major companies which survived through unstable and chaotic environment. Yet the book is not meant to be a guide to go through moments of turbulence. It is a guide to an ongoing situation that helps to survive through a continuous condition of change and disruption in the business world.

Great By Choice is not another dry book on preachy business guidelines. Collins is quite a writer, with power great enough to weave up his theory with compelling words. He dishes out his assertions in well interesting manner. One of the similarities that the book has carried forward to is the fact that readers getting the feel of reading a well-written horoscope holding Great by Choice in their hands. Collins specifies some very basic characteristics that can lead a company to lasting success, humility and discipline seems to a few of the prominent ones. His years of research on the book does a great justice in creating a strong backbone for what his theories stand for. There is something that Collins research point out to, the fact that innovation might not be the key to succeed. Innovation surely does not come to be in the don't list either yet it ain't really affective.

Grab a copy of Jim Collins's Great by Choice for the hottest new business read in the market. It would be best enjoyed if you have had read the prequel. Although Great by Choice does make its own mark and wouldn't disappoint you.
