“I would like to tell young writers that the best way to convey your message is to write in a simple way with simple sentence. Many great writers feel it is difficult to write in a simple way. Using complicated words or style will not attract a reader. In any story, one should have a theme and too much narration is boring. You should write in such a way that people should feel familiar, as if it is happening but it has not happened. As much as possible one should use his/ her experience in writing. A writer will not lose any experience however good or bad. That experience reflects somewhere some time. Writing is not one day’s job it is continuous and every day one should learn.” - Sudha Murty
Like the previous years, e-Author version 3.0 has been a great success this year too! We would like to thank all those who participated in the competition and contributed to its stupendous success. We had a great time reading the works of several extremely talented and promising authors. In fact, our Editorial team found it a Herculean task shortlisting seven entries out of the incredible 2194 first chapters that we were flooded with from every nook and corner of India. These entries were then sent to our distinguished judges – Ms Sudha Murty, Ms Shashi Deshpande, Ms Anita Nair, Ms Githa Hariharan, Mr Aniruddha Bahal and Mr Michael Flannery who decided on the three superb winning entries. The winners were then given three-and-half-months time to finish their books and, after a second round of judging, we are finally able to reveal the final rankings. We are also extremely thankful to our judges for giving us their invaluable time amid a busy schedule and giving their verdict on the winners.
The winners will be officially handed over the Prize Money at a Press Conference held at Oxford Bookstore, Delhi between the first and second week of October 2004.
In the meantime, don’t forget to browse through these marvellous novels and send us your feedback at eauthor@apeejaygroup.com
