An extempore on ‘life’
A quick happy breeze
A spring time morning
The humming of the bees
A lightning, unwarned
A footstep, to be traced
A cool moonlit night
With smiling stars laced.

A scorching summer noon
A thirsty wandering beggar
The stories of a madman
The life-smashing trigger
A sick man’s misery
A helplessness untold
A widow’s unfulfilled dreams
In poetry, finds its mould.

A journey in a train
To the hills and the ocean
A flight through the clouds.

A worshipper’s devotion.
An emotion brimming heart
A tear-filled bosom
Thoughts about love…
Poetry alone can fathom

A soft loving caress
A soul-drenching shower
A nail in my heart
A leaf, or a flower.
Anxious, but pleasing moments
When I first, fell in love

The kiss, the hug, the warmth…
The peace preaching dove.

The smile of a newborn,
The mother’s new faith
The sojourn, and the end
Which the mortals call death.
The twinkling of a star
My green-carpeted lawn
The twilight at sunset…
The calm, tranquil dawn…

The pain that death brings
The chirping of the sparrow
The little joyous moments
From life, which we borrow.
The hurt when he left
And never looked back
The nights I spent crying
Re-living, each attack.

A sudden guiding ray
When all else darkens
A spirit to ‘live’ again
My reason it sharpens.

Poetry is a life long friend
Assuring me, as I pen my mind…
A promise of unending loyalty
Always listening, never unkind.
Poetry is one responsible partner
Carrying the burden on my behalf
Draining---the tears, the painful dross,
Now, I am purged, and ready to laugh…
