The day before, in a fast food corner,
When out I went to eat,
There stood beside me,
A penniless soul, bare-feet.
Not a crumb could he buy though
Of each, he asked the price,
A voice within me offered help…
Yet I dared not throw the dice.
The flatness of this mortal earth,
The self-imposing blue,
Choked my voice deftly,
With a purplish orange hue.
