I loved this book. This is as good as Rage of Angels. If not better.
Honestly, words fail me when I embark on describing another journey with Sheldon. Thrilling! Magical! Uncertain! Fantastical! Need I say more about the “Master of the Game”’s latest flick Are you afraid of the dark? Not really! But I will. Since, I am dying to.
Lovely painter, Diane Stevens and sexy model, Kelly Harris find themselves thrust in a dangerous conspiracy where their husbands are killed. They reluctantly get together struggling to save themselves from constant attacks by mysterious strangers. Scene II and we delve into the breathtaking life of not-so gorgeous Paula, who is sensuous enough to make the think tank top-boss ache for her, badly. Yes, in comes the charismatic Tanner Kingsley, channelising his hi-tech grey cells to get to the root of the murder of his employees.
And the most awesome part, that of Tanner’s superhuman discovery of techniques involving the control of weather! |

Whenever I read a Sheldon novel, I am somehow mesmerized. He has this uncanny knack by which he not just reins your mind, but easily pedals your pulse. You breathe for his characters, and most importantly you find yourself thinking for them. I was dying to see Diane and Kelly through all the attacks they were facing. I wanted them to be safe. I would hold my breath before I turned over to the next page. I guess that’s important for any work of fiction, specially a thriller. And Sidney provided me with all of that and more...
Are you afraid of the Dark? is one book this season, which is worth a buy. It shall keep you wanting for more even after you’ve finished squeezing out the last dreg of ecstasy from the final leaf! Its like an adventure you wish would never end. The characters are full of life, shedding tears, yelling, laughing, and at times, dying. The twists are worth making you gasp, and the ending is something you could never have imagined in your wildest dreams, or, nightmares! Sheldon’s skilful work of detail and such a tasteful blending of the delightful weather technology with the solemnity of two women losing their loving husbands are two things one can’t afford to miss. It’s very different and fantastical. And that’s precisely why, I feel this novel is one of Sidney’s best works.
I must reassert this… I loved it. Grab a copy…and read it now. You’ll never regret having read it. But yes, you will regret one thing for sure…it won’t let you sleep till you are through...for good.
