The
results of India�s largest online talent
search competition �e-Author� was
announced at a Press Conference organised by www.oxfordbookstore.com
at The Park Banquets, Kolkata on January
29, 2003.
Mr
R.K. Mehra,
Publisher
-Rupa & Co
and Mr. Sanjeev Mehra- COO, e-Books
World Pvt Ltd, awarded the prizes to the
winners. Rupa & Co, India�s
leading publishing House, came aboard to
jointly sponsor this online talent search
contest with www.oxfordbookstore.com
this year. The total prize money awarded to
the winners of e-Author version 2.0 was
a whopping Rs 1 lakh!

WINNING NOVELS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AT www.oxfordbookstore.com.
Adrita
Mukherjee,
a Lecturer in English was selected the winner
for her novel The Jacaranda Blooms.
She basked in glory flanked by her
parents and toddler son as she received the
prize. Adrita is off to New Zealand now to
join her husband and add finishing touches to
her current assignment.
Rahul
Pandita,
a TV journalist working with Sahara Television
Network was awarded the Second Prize
for penning down Chinar
in My Veins. Rahul
could not be present to collect his prize
owing to his hectic job schedule. We
congratulate him once again for his
achievement.
Sanjay
Vasant Ranade,
a freelance journalist and writer bagged the Third
Prize for his book, Where
Ends Collide. Sanjay was
accompanied by his wife and little daughter
and we couldn�t resist clicking the perfect
family photograph.
The
e-Author Version 2.0
competition held in July 2002 has been a
tremendous success with over 1,652 entries
received from every nook and corner of India.
Entries also poured in from the USA, United
Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore! The writers
of the best three first chapters were awarded
a prize money of Rs 10,000/- and given
two-and-a-half months time (till November
2002) to finish their novels. After a second
and final round of judging, India's second
e-Author was announced.
Our
panel of illustrious judges comprising Taslima
Nasreen, Nabaneeta Dev Sen, Vikram
A. Chandra, Samik Bandopadhyay and M.J
Akbar, had a tough time zeroing in on the
winners.
